SafeTread CLEAR Non-slip Coatings

Safe Tread CLEAR is a revolutionary, transparent, textured, non-skid safety coating designed to enhance traction and create a slip-resistant surface on various hard flooring materials. Unlike its product siblings, Safe Tread and Soft Tread, Safe Tread CLEAR does not significantly alter the appearance of most substrates to which it is applied. This product is proudly produced in the USA.

Safe Tread CLEAR performs best when applied to light-colored materials, allowing the transparent traction granules to blend in visually. It is recommended for use on wood, colored concrete, ceramic tile, and other decorative flooring materials. However, it is not suitable for dark-colored surfaces, as the traction granules become much more visible when applied over them.

Safe Tread CLEAR is a non-flammable, water-based product that can be applied to many types of hard flooring. It is available in three texture grades: Fine, Medium, and Coarse. Its formula includes enhanced UV blockers to help prevent sunlight from bleaching the underlying substrate, and it is highly scuff and impact resistant.

Like its sibling product, Safe Tread, Safe Tread CLEAR utilizes inert hard acrylic bits to create its anti-slip texture. This environmentally friendly coating is extremely durable and designed to adhere to most substrates. Safe Tread CLEAR is equally effective in both wet and dry conditions. It is easy to apply, boasts excellent abrasion and chemical resistance, and is highly resistant to weather, wear, and impact.

Safe Tread CLEAR shares many application characteristics with the opaque formulas of Safe Tread and Soft Tread, making them popular choices for reducing the risk of slips and falls in marine, residential, aquatic, and various commercial or industrial environments. The transparent nature of Safe Tread CLEAR makes it more suitable for decorative flooring surfaces than the opaque alternatives.

Safe Tread CLEAR contains no VOCs and is odorless. Typical two-coat applications cover 125 to 150 square feet per gallon. For high-traffic areas, an optional third coat may be applied; however, the typical coverage rate is reduced by about one-third with three coats.

These durable products resist wear from foot traffic as well as light forklift and automotive traffic. If wear does occur, simply clean the affected area and recoat the worn spot.

The product can be rolled or sprayed on without the need for expensive equipment or complex tools. For best results, using a special Foam Roller or a Hopper Gun is recommended. The coatings dry to the touch in about one hour and can fully cure and be ready for use in as little as 24 hours.

Unlike the opaque formulas of Safe Tread and Soft Tread, Safe Tread CLEAR dries to a hard, rigid state and is not recommended for application over flexible materials such as rubber and certain types of vinyl.

Safe Tread CLEAR can be applied to most rigid flooring surfaces, including wood, concrete, metal, fiberglass, rigid plastic, rigid vinyl, and other similar materials. For very smooth surfaces, it is advisable to lightly sand or etch the area to ensure proper adhesion, as adhesion to very smooth substrates may be problematic.
