Safe Tread CLEAR is a revolutionary, transparent, textured, non-skid safety coating designed to improve traction and create a slip resistant surface on a variety of hard flooring surfaces. Unlike its product siblings, Safe Tread and Soft Tread, Safe Tread CLEAR does not significantly alter the appearance of most substrates to which it has been applied. Safe Tread CLEAR is proudly produced in the USA.
Safe Tread CLEAR works best when applied to light-colored materials, which allow the transparent traction granules to visually blend in. Safe Tread CLEAR is recommended for use on Wood, Colored Concrete, Ceramic Tile and other types of decorative flooring materials. This product is not recommended for use on dark colored flooring materials. When applied over a dark surface, the traction granules in the formula become much more visible.
Safe Tread CLEAR is a non-flammable, water based product that can be applied to many types hard flooring surfaces. It is available in three texture "grades", Fine, Medium and Coarse. Its formula contains enhanced UV Blockers to help prevent sunlight from bleaching the underlying substrate. It is highly scuff and impact resistant.
Just like its product sibling, Safe Tread, Safe Tread CLEAR uses inert hard acrylic bits to create its anti-slip texture. This environmentally friendly coating is extremely durable and is designed to adhere to most substrates. Safe Tread CLEAR is equally effective in wet or dry conditions. It is easy to apply and has excellent abrasion and chemical resistance and is extremely weather, wear, and impact resistant.

Safe Tread CLEAR shares many of the application characteristics that make the opaque formulas of Safe Tread and Soft Tread so popular. They are all commonly used to reduce the risk of slips and falls in marine, residential and aquatic applications as well as a wide variety of commercial or industrial environments. The transparent nature of Safe Tread Clear makes it more appropriate for use on decorative flooring surfaces than the opaque formulas.
Safe Tread CLEAR contains no VOC’s and is odorless. Typical, two-coat applications of Safe Tread CLEAR have a spread rate of 125 to 150 square feet per gallon. For high traffic areas an optional third coat may be applied. With three coats the typical coverage rate is reduced by about 1/3.
These durable products resist wear from foot traffic as well as light forklift and automotive traffic. If some wear does occur, simply clean the affected area and recoat the worn spot.
This product can be rolled or sprayed on. No expensive equipment or complex tools are required to apply the product. For best results, the use of the special Foam Roller or a Hopper Gun is recommended. These coatings dry to the touch in about one hour and can be fully cured and ready for use in as little as 24 hours.
Unlike the opaque formulas of Safe Tread and Soft Tread, Safe Tread CLEAR dries to a hard, rigid state. It is not recommended for application over flexible materials such as rubber and some types of vinyl.
Safe Tread CLEAR can be applied to most rigid flooring surfaces such wood, concrete, metal, fiberglass, rigid plastic, rigid vinyl, and other similar types of materials. For very smooth surfaces, it is recommended that the area be lightly sanded or etched to ensure proper adhesion. Adhesion to very smooth substrates will be problematic.
