SafetyDeck II Interlocking Safety Flooring

SafetyDeck II is a unique interlocking plastic tile that is made from recycled PVC plastic and rubber materials. This product comes in several versions, each with its own set of useful applications. SafetyDeck II is 50cm x 50cm, (19 3/4" x 19 3/4") in size. The interlocking tiles are 25mm, (1" ) thick. A solid-top version of this product shares the same dimensions. A third version, retains the holes but adds a highly slip-resistant grit texture.

SafetyDeck II has a pattern square holes molded into the surface. This design serves several functions. The holes provide excellent drainage. They also allow grass and other types of ground cover to grow though the tiles. These holes also create a controlled flex pattern that provides excellent traction as well as a considerable amount of cushioning.

When used for playground applications, SafetyDeck II is installed directly over sod or soil which has been planted with grass seed. A thin plastic screen material, which is known as skrim, is placed between the tiles and the soil to keep the tiles from sinking into the ground.

The SafetyDeck tiles stabilize the turf area, protecting against erosion and wear, while enhancing grass growth in high traffic areas. Once the grass grows in, the SafetyDeck tiles all but disappear from view.

SafetyDeck II has been fully tested for impact absorption in accordance with ASTM F1292-99. A certified fall height rating of 12 feet was achieved when SafetyDeck II was installed over a sodded grass area. It should be noted that in real-world installations, the compaction level of the soil and the length or type of the grass is likely to have a significant effect on the actual fall-height ratings which are achieved.

SafetyDeck II has many other useful applications in addition to playground surfacing. These tiles can support over 9000 pounds per square foot when installed over a hard surface. A common application is to create a "hidden" roadway for fire trucks and other types of vehicle traffic, over an area that has been planted with grass.This product provides excellent erosion control and is great for creating stabilized parking areas in soft sand, mud or snow.

When installed on rooftop decks and other similar areas, a durable raised walkway can be quickly created. The solid-top version features excellent anti-fatigue properties making it useful for many industrial and commercial applications. The grit-top version adds extra slip resistance and is perfect for installation over walkways which may become slippery when wet or icy.
